The Line: it is Pussycats.

From The Line: It Is Drawn, Josie and the New Pussycats.

Black Cat has stolen one of the Blue Man Group's backpack tubulums there.

October in Mexico

Okay, so while Dia de los Muertos is the day after Halloween, meaning that American candy would be on sale that day, it is also in November, technically.  But the candy is from October.  It makes sense.  Trust me.

September in Turkey

Why isn't Turkey the November month?  Because, ha ha, I think I have a better sense of humor than that.  What Turkey does have is  a Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, one of the oldest continuous markets in the world.  It's like a big mall, if malls were 1000 years old and had amazing architecture.

August in Egypt

Egypt gets friggin' hot in the summer.  But because they're pretty much giant piles of rock, the inside of the Pyramids is always a cool 68 degrees F.

For everyone else, there's air conditioning.

This was the first piece in the series that I completed.  You can tell from the ragged edges.  I also had the luxury of completing this one over the course of three days, and I think it shows.

Peruvian July

You always suspect that no matter where you go, the locals know secrets about finding the best things that they will never, ever tell you, ya big dumb tourist.

Kenya in June

Marabou storks are endemic to all of middle and Southern Africa, sort of like pigeons are in America, if pigeons stood waist-high, had a six-foot wingspan, and had the diet of a starving coyote.

Tahiti in May

Because, when you live in a tropical paradise and your job every day is to show rich people what a wonderful tropical paradise you live in, sometimes all you want to do is stay inside and beat the crap out of your brother at Mortal Kombat.

March in New Zealand

Technically, it would be autumn in New Zealand in March, but it's hard not to imagine that at least part of the country would still be green and covered with sheep and rugby players.

A Chinese January!

Happy New Year in what is technically the third post of the year.  Which means excitement has had time to build up for the regular unleashing of the images from my annual Christmas calendar.

This year, the theme was "Around the World," and the Jaunary image is China, for Chinese New Year, which is in Jaunary this year.

It's all a very twisted circle, here.

Also, the lady is selling steamed pork buns there (which you would know if you read the sign) for 4 yen each, which, as of January 2014, is the price of steamed pork buns in China.

Bad, bad comics

One of my copious New Year's resolutions is to make more comics, and also not to get hit in the face with condoms.

Actually, I've been doing pretty good at that.  Maybe I should reverse that one.
